Q)	What is Dermabrasion?
A)	Dermabrasion is a revolutionary new skin restoration process. It promotes regeneration of the skin structure by the removal of the epidermal (top layer) cells, resulting in a more youthful skin appearance.
Q)	How does it work?
A)	This gentle technique uses a controlled jet of fine mineral crystals to gently remove the uppermost layer of skin, resulting in smoother skin and a softer appearance. The non-toxic, aluminum oxide crystals are sprayed across the skin, and simultaneously are vacuumed to remove the dead skin cells along with the crystals. This treatment stimulates the collagen beneath the skin surface, which firms the skin.

A)	Dermabrasion has been performed in Europe for over five years and the FDA recently approved the procedure for use in the U. S.
Q)	How does it compare to other peels?
A)	A safe and effective alternative to other peels, the results are more intensive than chemical peels performed by your esthetician, but since it's accomplished gradually the results are more predictable. It doesn't require the recovery time of procedures performed by your physician. · How long does each treatment take? The procedure usually takes one hour.
Q)	Is the treatment painful?
A)	It is virtually painless, at first, some clients describe feeling a somewhat unpleasant sensation from the abrading pressure of the. Crystals and a pulling from the vacuum, however~ as with most unfamiliar procedures, these sensations diminished in subsequent treatments.
Q)	Who should avoid this treatment?
A)	The treatment is not for those with cuperose (fine, thin skin), nor those with active acne, skin cancer, herpes simplex, eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis. Those with diabetes, hepatitis, or allergies should consult with our Esthetician before undergoing with the dermabrasion
Q)	How does epidermal skin abrasion help age spots (keratosis)?
A)	Regular exfoliation by dermabrasion will help to smooth and reduce the thickened stratum corneum that result from many types of benign age spots, such as simple, actinic or seborrheic keratoses.
Q)	Is there a risk that dermabrasion can create cancerous cells by increasing cell turnover?
A)	No. The external process of micro-epidermal Skin abrasion does not increase internal cell activity to produce defective cells as do cancer causing agents such as radiation. To the contrary, regular exfoliation, helping to remove the dead skin cells, will actually allow greater production of healthy cells.

After cleansing the skin, the dermabrasion; treatment of the face and neck is performed. To achieve best results, we recommend a series " of six (6) treatments, scheduled at one to two week intervals.

We encourage you to maintain your results with a monthly maintenance program. Clients who have completed the six-treatment series will be offered a special monthly upkeep rate of $80.00 per treatment.

Post-Treatment Care Requirements:
Refrain from wearing makeup for at least 24 hours. Use sunscreen 5PF15 daily. Use Skin Repair Serum in evenings. Avoid swimming and sun exposure for a minimum of one week.
